Guess who's seeing this guy on August 6 at Fenway Park?!?!

That would be me and the hubby!! And honestly, we didn't pay that much....I mean we're not in the front row or anything, we're in the grandstands, paid $30 over the original price and ordered the tix at 730 in the evening when they went on sale at 10:00am. I figured they would be sold out, but he is doing 2 days so maybe that's why. The day before (Aug. 5) is our 3 year anniversary...what an awesome gift!! It would be safe to say that I am super stoked!!!

Happy Father's Day

I want to wish all of the father's out there a very Happy Father's Day! I grew up my entire life with one father who happens to be the best, in my opinion. Then when I turned 25 and got married I gained another father (in law) and he too is pretty special!! Here's to my 2 favorite dad's! I love you both!

I first read about Hannah in People magazine while sitting in a waiting room in NYC. She is one special little girl! I've been to the Cherry Street Mission and now more than ever people need our help, not just in Toledo, but all over the world. Yes, we could all use a "bailout" but some folks just need a pair of clean socks. I encourage everyone to find a way to give, even if it's simple, because every little bit helps.

Fenway Park Tour

Adam and I spent last Saturday (the only nice day we've had since we moved here!) in Boston enjoying Red Sox Nation citizen appreciation day. We got serious deals at the Team store on Yawkee Way, saw some old school Sox, and took a tour of Fenway for free! Now one might be wondering, why would you tour a place you've already visited? Well I'll tell you, because they take you to places you can't go when you're there for a game, and they tell you secrets about the history of an almost 100 year old ball park. Places our tour guide took us: The press box (which is the largest of all the ball parks), atop the green monstah (a place I will probably never watch an actual game from because it's wicked expensive), and the oak seats (which just happen to be the best/most uncomfortable seats in any ball park). Here's some pics from the day.

Wish List Wednesday

Taken from Brooke's blog, which was from another blog as well...I like it! There are so many things I really want in this world, for this world, and for myself. Here are 3 for this week!

One of my former students told me that....and you know what, I think he may be right! We got cable last week, the first day we moved in, and I have been gleefully catching up on my baseball games, and my science and reality shows. No, not such reality as "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" or even "Jack and Kate plus 8", but shows like Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, National Geographic, and History. And here in MA, we have NESN which shows every Red Sox game....I'm in heaven!

I don't know if the shows I watch will make my brain mush, but it does take up much of my day. At first I tried to avoid it, but then I thought about it a little more. I'm looking for a job, unpacking, and cleaning while I'm watching TV, so it's not as if I'm sitting, mouth agape, starring at the screen. And I also will (hopefully) be employed soon, and then I'll never get to watch TV, except in the evening when I get home. And I am finding wonderful ideas for new recipes to try, and ways to decorate/arrange our new apt. And my last excuse is that the weather blows here! It's been rainy/overcast almost every day since we got here. While my new community has a wodnerful pool I could utilize, I'm stuck inside because of the rain and cold. So whatelse am I to do...but turn my brain to (semi) mashed potatoes:)

Back and Better than Ever

It's been a while, but I'm back!! The past few weeks have been crazy, but Adam and I are officially moved to MA. We left Saturday morning around 11:00, arrived in Wustah (Worcester is the correct spelling, but I wanted everyone to know how it's pronounced!), and had everything out of the moving truck in about 3 hours! Out of boxes...now that's a different story!! Hell, we don't even have a bed or couch to sit on! Thankfully we got cable and internet access today though. I'm starting the job search process which is going to be interesting. I'm not quite sure I want to teach anymore, but that's a blog for a different day:)

So far I've learned a few things about the area: It has to be the Urban sprawl capital of the state, they are not the nicest drivers here in MASS, Lalajava will happily take the place of Starbucks in my life, driving does not give me the same anxiety as it once used to, they are not as eco-friendly as NYC, and I'm going to absolutely love it here!!!! There will be MUCH MORE to come, pics of the place (once it's furnished) and of the area! Have a great week everyone!!
