Project Wedding Photos 4

I'm slacking A LOT with this project *story of my life* but I'm determined to get it done and soon!  I now have 127 photos scanned.  That's a little more than half way...123 left to go!!!  Adam hung out with me while I did this last batch...he's glad I'm doing it, but will also be happy when it's over.  I let him pick a favorite from this batch, though I knew what he would choose.  And then I also picked a favorite.  Happy Saturday:)

I'm a terrible daughter/blogger and have not posted much of anything about my parent's visit earlier this month!  We had a great time! I picked them up from Logan on Thursday and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get in and out of the airport. What follows are pictures from each of our days and the adventures we had!  Enjoy!!

I'm dreaming of a white...October 18??

A nor'easter hit parts of New England yesterday, especially Central MA and Greater Boston. It started with clouds and rain...lots of rain. Then around 2:00pm the drops started getting a little bigger and cold. The next thing I know, it's snowing...HARD! And the flakes were big, fluffy, and wet...the size of ping pong balls. It didn't stick right away, but by the evening, as the clouds became thicker the snow fell harder, and started sticking to the grass and cars. Thankfully we had just cleaned the garage to start storing our car in there! We decided to take the girls to the dog run before it got dark...they love snow, Adam loves snow, I...well, not as much. I love to admire it from inside a warm house, and I do like (emphasis on like, not love) it when it's actually winter, in say December - February. The best part is that just as quickly as it came, it was gone and now, the sun is shining and a warm up is coming. I love New England weather:)

Wish List Wednesday (on Saturday)

I used to have Wednesdays off at work so I could always participate in the Wish List over at The Foster Family Blog but these days I have Mondays off so I miss out. No fear, I'm going to do mine this week on Saturday, and maybe start planning ahead and preparing the post before hand then scheduling it to post on Wednesdays...ya, we'll see:) My list this week is in preparation for the snow that is coming or has come if you live in Massachusetts!! Fear

Hi, my name is Erin....and I'm afraid of heights. (Hi, Erin)

The term is called acrophobia and it is described as "an extreme or irrational fear of heights." I wouldn't go that far to describe my fear, as I have not ever experienced a panic attack while being up high, but I have come close. I am not a wimp. And I wouldn't call my fear irrational either...I genuinely am scared to death of being up high....partially because of the falling factor.

This has come up recently in my life because the cold is coming and that brings snow (some of which we were exposed to yesterday!) and lots of people in New England ski or snowboard. My husband is one of them, a snowboarder. Thankfully, he has never pushed me into going because he knows of my fear. I'm more content being a snowbunny OFF the slopes...fire, layers, a warm totty...you get the picture.

Others, however, are not so understanding, even after I explain my fears. When someone asks if I ski/board, and I tell them "no", and why, they say, "oh, you will love it, just try it"...or, "you've never been skiing with us, we're fun." It's not a matter of never trying it (I have) or not wanting to have fun (I am fun...very fun) it's that I do not want to hyperventilate on the ski lift, or get to the top and not be able to get down. It's the same when roller coaster season comes around...I love going to amusement parks, I'll even stand in line with the group, but I won't ride anything that moves quickly at great heights. Flying is one exception...I don't love to do it, but I'm enclosed and can close the blind so not to look down, which makes a huge difference. I will not be caught dead however in a helicopter or little prop plane...not enough "enclosedness" (I'm sure this is not a word, but oh well!).

I am working on this fear for the purpose of hiking the Presidential Range next summer in the White Mountain region of New Hampshire. Hiking is not so bad, as long as I'm surrounded by rocks or trees of some sort. And when I get to the top I need to be on some sort of flat land, away from the edge. Or at least with my loving husband who some how calms me down when my fear starts to take over. It's good to be loved:)

Success

The families visit was a huge success! We had so much fun, and if I wasn't blogging from work on my break I would totally post pics! As soon as I get a few free moments at home on the computer I will get some up. We showed them a nice mix of the Greater Worcester area, Boston, and the Metro West area. The weather was a bit chilly while they were here and it's only getting colder. I'm so not ready for this! I know MA winter is going to be similar to Northern MI winter, but I've been without it for 2 winters now....hopefully I don't go crazy! Hope this post finds everyone in the blogging world well and warm! Happy Thursday:)

The Parents are coming! The Parents are coming!

Ha ha...that's right!
The Headley's are visiting Massachusetts! Bless my parents...they have visited me in every state I've lived in since moving away from Ohio 4 years ago: Michigan, New York, and now here. They are flying this time around, as their other visits were by car. They fly in Thursday afternoon to Logan and I will be picking them up...my first trip to Logan...YIKES!! I guess the 13+ hour drive is a little more than they can handle:) We have some exciting things planned as they've never been to New England. They are wicked excited (my words, not theirs obviously!) as are we! I can't believe it's been a YEAR since we last saw them! We are prepping the girls with lots of "Grandma and Grandpa's and Maxxer Man's" (my parents dog)...they are probably not as amused as we are by it, but oh well! Adam is right now finishing up some projects in the garage to make the apartment a little more finished. I can't wait to share The Adventures with my blog friends...get ready:)
