Totally forgot...

Adam and I were able to buy Red Sox - MFY's tickets for face value at Fenway!  For those of you who don't understand the big deal...trust me...it is!  Tickets for Sox games are hard to get as it is, but when they play the Yankee's, it's almost impossible!  Tickets for the same game are already selling on stubhub, and other sites for $250 a piece!!  We paid $52 and were able to get 4...here's how:

We entered all of our emails (4) into a drawing and 1 was chosen for the chance to purchase tickets.  We were given a log in name and password and a time to log in.  Saturday at 12:00 we logged on and were put in a virtual waiting room, with the page refreshing every 15 seconds.  After an hour of waiting, we got in and were able to check the schedule for all of the Yankee's games (10 at home, including Opening Day) and 2 when the Sox play the Dodgers.  We tried first for Opening day, but the only tix were WAY out in the bleachers and just not worth it.  We ended up getting tix for Friday, May 7, in the Oak Seats behind home plate.  We sat there for our first game at Fenway, 2 years ago, and while the seats are uncomfortable, they are awesome! 

Now I really can't wait for Spring:)

Life List

I did it.  I finally finished my list of 100 Adventures to accomplish some day.  My friend Katie (I love all that she does, really!) of Katie Jane Parker Photography (hire her...she rocks!) did this and it of course inspired me to do the same.  I also got inspiration from Mighty Girl and her Mighty Life List, as well as John Goddard and his Life List. My list is on the right side of my blog, so that I and all of you will be able to track my adventures as they come.  Let's hope that I continue blogging for as long as it takes me to do some, or all of these!

It was quite an effort actually.  I may not accomplish half of these things, but that's OK!  Just thinking about them made me realize that I have so many years (if I'm lucky!) of my life left...so many memories to make, and adventures to take.  I can't wait to go out and make something; to DO something with all of the time I have left here on Planet Earth!  Carpe Diem and Saliente!

Snow you say?!

I'm from the Midwest, Ohio to be exact, and I'll admit it, we LOVE to talk about the weather.  And yes, this post is about just that...the NASTY weather we're having in Central MA right now.  While we love to talk about the weather, we do not like to drive in it!  While I'm usually OK with snow driving (I did live in Northern MI where they get obscene amounts of snow well into Spring, and I do have a Subaru which can drive in just about anything,) I'd rather be safe and keep my Suuby the same way. 

So this morning, I knew it had snowed, I could see it out my window and I started the drive to work with a little extra caution.  Just as Adam and I (he in his car) were turning out of our apt. complex, he proceeded to donut in the middle of the road.  I started to worry a little, but kept going.  I slid almost off the road, and I was less than a mile from home, but no biggie, the highway will be better I thought.  So, I get on the expressway and turn right back around.  We were moving less than 20 miles per hour (mind you, the average highway speed in MA is 75mph) cars were sliding everywhere, including mine, and after 2 exits I said, just kidding!!  I'm giving myself at least a 2 hour delay...maybe longer.  All of the schools around here are closed, but as you get to Sudbury (24 miles away) it's just rain...weird how that works.

Good times never seemed so good...so good, so good!  Let's Go Red Sox!

Guess what else is in the air?  Spring fever!  And with spring comes my favorite sport...Baseball!  The Red Sox are officially reporting to Spring Training and I am ready for the 2010 season!  We even know who's throwing out the 1st pitch Opening Day when we take on the MFY's.  Gold medalist Hannah Kearney from Vermont.  She wore an Ellsbury shirt under her Opening Ceremony Ralph Lauren Jacket.  I love it!  Can't Spring get here...please!!!

Love is in the air

Right around the time I was getting married, so was just about everyone else in my circle of friends...or almost everyone anyway.  In the almost 6 years that Adam and I have been together we've been to many weddings together, and I've been in quite a few.  I love everything about weddings...the decorating, the planning, the flowers, and especially the dresses.  This past Christmas my best friend Jena joined the ranks of ring wearing women and finally got engaged to her beau.  I am so happy that she now gets to enjoy (and loathe) the fine art of wedding planning.  And to make it that much sweeter for me, I have been asked to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.  It is such an honor to be apart of a wedding, especially that of a very best friend that you've known for 10 years.  She has already chosen our dresses, and I couldn't have asked for a better dress!  Black and Jcrew (great minds think alike!) and on sale!!!  I ordered it today with great delight...this dress is perfect and I cannot wait until Sept. 25 to wear it for her big day.  I will also be able to wear the dress again, 2 weeks later when I watch another great friend, Katie Jane, walk down the aisle in NYC. 

 Love is in the air...can you feel it?  I sure can!

Last weekend was a big weekend around here....not because it was Valentine's Day, or because of the President's Day holiday, but because Monday, February 15, was Adam's 30th Birthday.  Yep, 3 decades of life have come and gone for my fantastic hubby.  He was actually having a hard time with the idea in the weeks/months leading up to the day.  And come to think of it...more than a few of my friends feel that way about every birthday.

Is it our desire to stay young?  Why does a bigger number in the age category scare us so?  Maybe it's that I don't look a day over 18, or act a day over 12, or that I spend 10 hours a day with 3 year old children...whatever the case may be, I'm looking forward to the future and all that it may or may not bring.  For me, age is just a number and it's more about how young you feel, than how old you are:)
